The "eligible" President-elect Obama

Is he or isn’t he? That's the focus of a new WND forum that offers readers an opportunity to express their opinion on whether Barack Obama is eligible to be president under the U.S. Constitution.

There have been dozens of questions – and about that many legal cases – so far over the campaign's failure to document his status as a "natural-born" U.S. citizen, a status that is required by the constitution to hold the highest office.

WND has reported on at least one of those legal challenges to Obama's name being on the 2008 presidential ballot reaching the U.S. Supreme Court, with a "conference" on the dispute scheduled on Dec. 5.

"Barack Obama
may have won the presidential election, but is he eligible to serve? That's a question on the minds of millions of Americans eager to see his birth certificate and find out for sure if he was born in the U.S., as he claims," states the forum introduction.

"At least two of his relatives in Kenya claim to have been present at his birth in Mombasa, Kenya. In addition, the Obama machine has scoffed at requests to see the form of the Hawaiian birth certificate that includes the specific hospital in which the delivery took place. The form released by the campaign does not include that information, leading to suspicions Obama might have been one of the foreign-born babies of the 1960s who were, nonetheless, provided birth certificates by the state of Hawaii. Now it's time for you to sound off on this controversy."

The new forum has been posted on the Forums.WND.com website.

Additionally, WND has launched an online petition designed to enlist the public's help in demanding evidence of Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility for the office of the presidency.

The electronic petition calls on all controlling legal authorities to take seriously the matter of where and when and to whom Obama was born and whether he qualifies as a "natural-born American citizen," according to Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution. To participate, sign the petition here.
