"Deceived on Purpose: The New Age Implications of the Purpose-Driven Church"
Deceived on Purpose (Book)
By: Warren Smith
Christian author Warren Smith's book "Deceived on Purpose" warns about the serious New Age implications of Pastor Rick Warren's book "The Purpose Driven Life".
Smith takes the reader into the inner workings of today's evangelical world as he explores the questionable interconnections of several of its top leaders. As Rick Warren goes worldwide with his purpose-driven Global Peace Plan, Smith presents an in-depth examination of this mega-church pastor's spiritual agenda. He explains how Rick Warren's Peace Plan could eventually merge with the New Age Peace Plan that is being similarly presented by key New Age leaders.
Smith contends that Crystal Cathedral Pastor and New Age sympathizer Robert Schuller has had a great influence on Rick Warren's teachings and that Schuller's influence can be found throughout Rick Warren's book "The Purpose-Driven Life". Smith writes, "The more I read Robert Schuller, the more I was shocked at how so many of Rick Warren's thoughts, ideas, references, words, terms, phrases, and quotes in 'The Purpose-Driven Life' seemed to be inspired by Schuller's writings and teachings".
Smith's distinctive background as a former New Age follower who has converted to biblical Christianity gives him a uniquely objective perspective as both an outsider and an insider. He draws deeply from his extensive knowledge of the New Age subculture that is now being subtly woven into the Christian church by Rick Warren and other Christian leaders. Smith believes that wittingly or unwittingly, Rick Warren is walking the church into a spiritual trap.
This exceptional book is sure to appeal to a wide-ranging audience. Anyone who desires to know how the evangelical and New Age plans are moving toward "oneness" will find this book to be especially insightful. Smith's easy-going style makes this a fast-paced read.

Editor's note: The following is a column adapted from a letter Joseph Farah wrote to Rick Warren last week about his agreement to offer the invocation at the inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama on Jan. 20.
I'm writing to share my profound and abject revulsion at your agreement to offer the invocation at the inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama as president Jan. 20.
I understand you want this to be a time of "healing" for our nation. I understand you consider Obama to be your "friend." I understand your desire to bring "civility" to our society.
However, when we read the Bible, we see there are times for men of God to stand up to leaders, like Nathan did to King David, and confront them with the absolute truth of God's word and His laws. That's what all Christians should do when confronted with leaders embracing evil.
Evil?
That's a strong word.
But I use it advisedly.
Let's focus on just one of Obama's evil policies, though there are dozens more we should consider.
Agree with Farah? Maybe you should read his plan for "Taking America Back"
Barack Obama is opposed to any and all restrictions on the killing of unborn children and has pledged to work against the few that remain. In fact, as a state legislator in Illinois, he pushed a law that would require the killing of babies born alive after unsuccessful abortions. You know he will also open the floodgates to the use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund abortion overseas through groups like Planned Parenthood and agencies such as the United Nations Population Fund. You should note the U.N. supports forced abortions and sterilizations in China. He has even promised to sign into law the Freedom of Choice Act, which would make illegal even peaceful efforts to persuade mothers from aborting their babies. In essence, Obama holds and has pledged to enforce, a radical pro-abortion position that will curtail free speech, freedom of religion and ensure that many more innocent lives will be destroyed.
I call that evil.
I would hope you, a pastor of the gospel of Jesus Christ, would also call that evil.
I'm trying to imagine Jesus giving an invocation at the inauguration of such a man. I think you will agree, it's unimaginable.
So why are you ready, willing and eager to do this thing?
I ask you, as a brother in the Lord, to examine your heart, your mind and your soul as to your motivations for offering this prayer.
Yes, we are commanded to pray for our leaders. But there is no suggestion in the Bible that we are ever to be used as political pawns by praying at their events – especially when they are promoting the wholesale slaughter of innocent human beings.
I understand your yearning for civility.
I yearn for it, too.
But civility begins with the understanding that we are all made in the image of God. It begins with the rejection of the shedding of innocent blood. It begins with the church standing boldly upon its absolute convictions in the Word of God and in His laws.
I'm sure you would not want to invoke God's blessing on the inauguration of a figure like Adolf Hitler, whose rise to power brought the destruction of millions of lives.
So, in principle, you agree there is a time for believers to stand up to elected leaders and rebuke them – even publicly. Apparently, you don't believe that time is now – that the deaths of untold numbers of born and unborn babies is not justification enough for such a stance.
I disagree.
I want you to know that.
God will not bless the Obama administration's plans for murder, no matter what you say on Jan. 20. It's time for Rick Warren to decide whether he stands with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or if he stands with the world and his "friend," Barack Hussein Obama.

Thousands advise electors to check eligibility
OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
Thousands advise electors to check eligibility
But 1 who teaches 'Marxist theory' ridicules concerns

If documents someday prove Barack Obama is not eligible to be president under the U.S. Constitution, none of the 538 Electoral College members who vote him into office Monday will be able to claim ignorance.
That's after 3,653 citizens had enough concern over the allegations, they participated in a WND effort to deliver letters to every elector, urging them to investigate.
The campaign followed an earlier campaign among WND readers that sent more than 60,000 letters by overnight delivery to the U.S. Supreme Court when a case contesting Obama's eligibility for the Oval Office was pending.
The latest letters were sent FedEx to all 538 members of the Electoral College.
As WND has reported, serious questions remain over whether Obama is "a natural born citizen," as specified in Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution. While he claims to have been born in Hawaii in 1961, two Obama family members have told WND they were present at his birth in Mombasa, Kenya.
Further, Obama has steadfastly refused to release publicly his full birth certificate that would identify the hospital of his birth, the attending physician and other details. Instead, the campaign posted a document purporting to be a birth certificate devoid of these details.
Joseph Farah, founder and editor of WND, explained the significance of the letters to electors.
"If there is any doubt, electors have a sworn duty to find out. And, no matter what you hear from my colleagues in the press, elected officials who chose not to investigate this matter and not to insist that safeguards and checks were in place on a matter so urgent and fundamental, there is doubt – grave doubt.
"In fact, unless we're going to live under an honor system in the future, one that relies solely on what a candidate says about his own eligibility, there is no reason to believe Obama is. There is simply no valid evidence to prove it, and there is plenty to raise doubts," he wrote in a commentary on the program.
That "honor system" apparently is exactly what some electors want. One Colorado elector who told the Aspen Times she spends some of her time "teaching Marxist theory at a university," Camilla Auger, said she was upset that anyone would raise concerns about Obama.
Auger will vote for Obama Monday along with Colorado electors Margaret Atencio of Denver, Polly Baca of Denver, Ann Knollman of Arvada, Terry Phillips of Louisville, Pam Shaddock of Greeley, Don Strickland of Centennial, Jennifer Trujillo-Sanchez of Colorado Springs and Wellington Webb of Denver.
She ridiculed those with concerns about Obama's eligibility.
"I took them seriously enough that I was concerned that there are that many nutty people in the country making depressing, absurd allegations," she told the Denver Post. "There are so many problems in the country right now, we need to work together."
The Post itself, in fact, claimed the "allegations have been repeatedly debunked by the Obama campaign and news outlets."
The Times report said Auger has been a social sciences professor and vice president of an oil company, Tosco Corp.
"I think I was probably the only person in country to be executive vice president of an oil company and teaching Marxist theory at a university," she told the Times.
Others, however, have another view, and columnist Randall Hoven of AmericanThinker.com is one.
"Unfortunately, the facts are not clear. Multiple witnesses say Obama was born outside the U.S., that his father was not a U.S. citizen and his mother was a minor. If those are the facts, he was not 'natural born' per the laws in place at the time. Other cases have advanced different arguments challenging Obama's eligibility under the natural born citizen clause," he wrote.
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, sign up now!
More than a dozen cases have been brought into courtrooms around the country over Obama's eligibility, many of which have been dismissed summarily. However, three already have reached the U.S. Supreme Court and others still remain in the pipeline that could lead there.
The Supreme Court has declined to act in one case, which alleged Obama held dual citizenship because of a father who was a British subject, and is being asked to rule on a motion in a second case. A third case, scheduled for conference among the justices, also raises questions about Obama's lineage, citizenship and eligibility, because of his British-subject father and a mother who was a minor.
Last month WND reported how the situation could create a "constitutional crisis." The concerns were raised in a lawsuit in California, with lead plaintiff former presidential candidate Alan Keyes asking state officials to prevent Electoral College members from voting for Obama until they investigated his eligibility in the case being handled by the United States Justice Foundation.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi went to both Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.
The biggest question was why, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists as his campaign has stated, Obama hasn't simply ordered it made available to settle the rumors.
The governor's office in Hawaii said there is a valid certificate but rejected requests for access and left ambiguous its origin: Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii?
Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro, has named two different Hawaii hospitals where Obama could have been born. There have been other allegations that Obama actually was born in Kenya during a time when his father was a British subject.
The California case for which Keyes is a plaintiff states: "Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the office of president of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void, petitioners, as well as other Americans, will suffer irreparable harm in that (a) usurper will be sitting as the president of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal."
Hoven writes, "As much as we wish the bad thing to go away, the 'evidence' brought forth to prove Obama's natural born status is next to non-existent, despite what you might have read or heard."
Several of the online "fact" websites have stated Obama's documentation proves his citizenship and eligibility, some even citing sources within the Obama campaign staff.
"Yes, there was a birth announcement in the Honolulu newspaper at the time. Yes, the state of Hawaii said his birth certificate has been verified. Yes, we've seen Obama's birth certificate and it says he was born in Honolulu," Hoven writes.
But, he said, "Each of these claims falls apart upon the slightest examination."
A birth announcement published in a newspaper, for example, "means nothing."
"The announcement is not exactly informative. It says 'Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy, son. Aug 4.' That's it. It ran on page B-6 of the August 13, 1961 edition of 'The Sunday Advertiser.' It is not an official document of any kind and makes no claim of the location of his birth in any case. It announces a birth, period," Hoven writes.
Then there's the issue of the affirmation by the state of Hawaii regarding Obama's birth certificate.
"The actual quote from the Department of Health director is: 'I as Director of Health for the State of Hawaii, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures,'" Hoven said.
"All they did was verify that Obama's original birth certificate is on record. But that doesn't tell us what we need to know. What we need to know is where he was born," he said.
"The state of Hawaii did not say what was on the certificate and it won't release a copy out of privacy considerations. The state of Hawaii simply verified that Obama has a birth certificate on record; it did not verify that he was born in Hawaii," Hoven said.
Another point is Hawaii's provision, he said, that provides "certificates" for children born outside Hawaii.
The online image of a "certification of live birth" posted by Obama's FightTheSmears.com website, also, falls into that category, leaving many questions.
"Most importantly … this is not Obama's original birth certificate (the 'long form') and thus does not tell us what we need to know. Even if totally genuine, it is not the document necessary to prove he was born in Hawaii," Hoven wrote.
He continued, "In this case, the Constitution is very clear. Article II, Section 1 states, 'no person except a natural born citizen ... shall be eligible to the office of president.' No fuzz there. No need to look into penumbras and emanations. If a guy ain't natural born, he can't be president."
GOP presidential candidate John McCain during the campaign responded when his eligibility was questioned, due to the fact he was born to two U.S. citizens outside the boundaries of the 50 states.
A petition drive also has collected more than 175,000 signatures – so far – from people who want to know the truth.
Auger told the Times she recognizes the importance of the Electoral College.
"You would say that it's a ceremonial role except for the fact that, as we know, we have presidents who have been elected by the Electoral College and not by the popular vote," Auger told the newspaper.
The report said she was careful to note that should something, "like a scandal," happen to Obama before the Electoral College vote, they technically could elect someone else.
Farah also launched a petition drive on WND three weeks ago that calls on all controlling legal authorities to ensure the Constitution is followed on the question of eligibility and for full public disclosure of the facts of Obama's birthplace and parentage. More than 175,000 people have signed on to the petition in that time.
Obama has claimed in his autobiography and elsewhere he was born in Hawaii in 1961 to parents Barack Hussein Obama Sr., a Kenyan national, and Stanley Ann Dunham, a minor. But details about which hospital handled the birth and other specifics provided on the complete birth certificate have been withheld by Obama.
WND dispatched private detectives to every hospital in Hawaii to see if there were any records of the birth of the first black man elected president. But, as yet, no hospital is claiming that distinction.
The letter told electors: "As is evident not only from lawsuits, but from news stories and the actions of millions of Americans signing petitions, this constitutional issue has not yet been addressed, even at this late hour.
"Unfortunately, there isn't enough time for our slow-moving legal process to deal with this before the Electoral College meets next week. Only you, our Electors, have the power and responsibility – and the obligation under the Constitution – to use your authority to establish, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that Barack Hussein Obama Jr. qualifies for the office under that standard.
"There is grave and widespread concern throughout the American public that this constitutional requirement is being overlooked and enforcement neglected by state and federal election authorities. There should be no doubt whatsoever that America's next president was truly born in the United States.
"Remember, if the Constitution doesn't mean precisely what it says, then America is no longer a nation under the rule of law. And a nation no longer under the rule of law is, by definition, under the rule of men."

The concerns were raised in a lawsuit in California, with lead plaintiff former presidential candidate Alan Keyes asking state officials to prevent Electoral College members from voting for Obama until they investigated his eligibility in the case being handled by the United States Justice Foundation.

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected a second challenge to the presidency of Barack Obama, announcing today it denied an application for a stay or an injunction in a case from Connecticut.
The case brought by Cort Wrotnowski had been distributed for review by the court and apparently was considered during a conference of the justices Friday.
It met the same fate as an earlier case brought by Leo Donofrio and essentially challenged Obama on the same issue: allegations that dual citizenship based on a father who was a British subject and a mother who was an American minor disqualified him for office under the U.S. Constitution's requirement that presidents be "natural born" citizens.
As is its custom, the Supreme Court made no comment other than to post its decision:
Order from the U.S. Supreme Court
The latest case, Wrotnowski vs. Susan Bysiewicz, the Connecticut secretary of state, was turned down at the state level and rejected by Justice Ruth Ginsburg Nov. 26. It was submitted to Justice Antonin Scalia, and there was no word on its fate for about 10 days. The case then was scheduled for Friday's conference, a meeting at which justices consider which cases to accept.
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, join more than 185,000 others and sign up now!
The court last week also turned down a request to stop the Electoral College today from selecting the 44th president until Obama documents his eligibility for the office under the Constitution's requirement that presidents must be "natural born" citizens.
The action came in a case brought to the high court by Philip J. Berg, who also alleges Obama is ineligible to be president.
Berg had asked the court for an injunction to stay the Electoral College votes and prohibit Vice President Dick Cheney, the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate from counting any votes until the demanded proof arrives.
The injunction was sought while Berg awaits the court's determination on whether it will hear his writ of certiorari requesting review of a dismissal of his case in U.S. District Court in eastern Pennsylvania.
"I know that Mr. Obama is not a constitutionally qualified natural born citizen and is ineligible to assume the office of president of the United States," Berg said in a statement on his ObamaCrimes.com website.
"Obama knows he is not 'natural born' as he knows where he was born and he knows he was adopted in Indonesia; Obama is an attorney, Harvard Law grad who taught Constitutional law; Obama knows his candidacy is the largest 'hoax' attempted on the citizens of the United States in over 200 years; Obama places our Constitution in a 'crisis' situation; and Obama is in a situation where he can be blackmailed by leaders around the world who know Obama is not qualified," Berg's statement continued.
However, the high court, in a website entry, confirmed the application for the injunction was "denied by Justice [David] Souter."
As WND has reported, more than a dozen lawsuits have been filed over Obama's eligibility to assume the office of the president, many have been dismissed, while others remain pending.
The cases have, in various ways, alleged Obama does not meet the "natural born citizen" clause of the U.S. Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, which reads, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."
Some of the legal challenges have alleged that Obama was not born in Hawaii, as he insists, but in Kenya. Obama's American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.
Other challenges have focused on Obama's citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. Such cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.
Several details of Obama's past have added twists to the question of Obama's eligibility and citizenship, including his family's move to Indonesia when he was a child, his travel to Pakistan in the '80s when such travel was forbidden to American citizens and conflicting reports from Obama's family about his place of birth.
Perhaps the most perplexing detail, however, has been Obama's own refusal to allow the public release of a signed, "vault" copy of his original birth certificate.
A partial listing and status update for several of the cases surrounding Obama's eligibility to serve as president is below:
* Philip J. Berg, a Pennsylvania Democrat, demanded that the courts verify Obama's original birth certificate and other documents proving his American citizenship. Berg's latest appeal, requesting an injunction to stop the Electoral College from selecting the 44th president, was denied by Justice Souter of the U.S. Supreme Court.
* Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.
* Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut's secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.
* Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public's support.
* Chicago attorney Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama's vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.
* Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama's eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama's citizenship. His case was denied.
* In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.
* In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama's citizenship. The case was denied.
* In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama's birth certificate. His request for an injuction against Georgia's secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.
Private investigator Douglas Hagmann of HomelandSecurityUS.com reported earlier he found 13 cases challenging Obama's eligibility still active or semi-active.
Last month, WND reported the worries over a "constitutional crisis" that could be looming over the issue of Obama's citizenship.
"Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the Office of President of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void," argues the Alan Keyes case pending in California, "Americans will suffer irreparable harm in that (a) usurper will be sitting as the President of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal."
With such high stakes potentially at risk, WND earlier launched a letter campaign to contact Electoral College members and urge them to review the controversy.
That followed a campaign that sent more than 60,000 letters by overnight delivery to the U.S. Supreme Court when one case contesting Obama's eligibility for the Oval Office was pending.
A separate petition, already signed by more than 185,000 also is ongoing asking authorities in the election to seek proof Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi had gone to both Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.

NY governor: Caroline Kennedy wants Senate seat
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ny_senate_seat
ALBANY, N.Y. – Caroline Kennedy told New York's governor on Monday that she's interested in the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Rodham Clinton, making her the highest-profile candidate to express a desire for the job. Democratic Gov. David Paterson will choose the replacement. "She told me she was interested in the position," Paterson said. "It's not a campaign. She'd like at some point to sit down."
Caroline Kennedy's spokesman, Stefan Friedman, declined to comment.
Clinton is expected to be confirmed as President-elect Barack Obama's secretary of state.
At an afternoon news conference to discuss last week's paralyzing ice storm, New York's senior senator, Charles Schumer, said he has also talked to Caroline Kennedy about the job.
"And she's clearly interested," he said.
Kennedy is the daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy. Her uncle, the late Robert F. Kennedy, once held the Senate seat she wants. Paterson has sole authority to name a replacement for Clinton, who was first elected in 2000 and re-elected by a wide margin in 2006.
Over the past week, Kennedy, who lives in Manhattan, has reached out to several prominent New York Democrats to tell them of her interest in the Senate seat. They included Joel Klein, chancellor of the New York City Department of Education. Kennedy worked closely with Klein as executive of the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the New York City Department of Education, where she raised about $65 million for the city's schools.
"I think she's thought about it a long time," Klein said of a conversation he had with Kennedy on Monday. He said the campaigning she did for Obama this year helped acquaint her with the gritty rituals of retail politics.
"She's a highly determined woman and she's clearly been thinking about her life and how to make an effective contribution," Klein said. "Everyone knows Caroline, and everyone has a great historical respect for the Kennedy family."
Other Democrats who appear to be on Paterson's short list include New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who won't say publicly whether he's interested.
One of the early front-runners, Rep. Nydia Velazquez of Brooklyn, took herself out of the running Friday.
Paterson will appoint someone to fill Clinton's seat for two years if she is confirmed as secretary of state.
Republicans wasted no time in criticizing Kennedy as unqualified for the job and unfamiliar with the state.
"If anything, it makes me more determined to run," said Rep. Peter King, a Long Island Republican who has already expressed his interest in the seat.
"As far as record of achievement, I strongly believe that I'm much more qualified, much more experienced, and have an independent record," King said. "Nothing against Caroline Kennedy, but I don't think anyone has a right to a seat."
Besides being a member of America's most famous political family, 50-year-old Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is president of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and a member of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award Committee.
She is also a director of the Commission on Presidential Debates; a director of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund; honorary chairwoman of the American Ballet Theatre; and vice chairwoman of New York City's Fund for Public Schools.
She has a bachelor's degree from Harvard and a law degree from Columbia University. She and her husband, Edwin Arthur Schlossberg, have three children.
The Rev. Al Sharpton, a prominent civil rights activist, said Kennedy called him Monday. For Democrats, Sharpton could be an important ally, and an early call on such political matters can be a critical show of respect. If Sharpton eventually supports Kennedy, his endorsement could go a long way in helping ease any criticism that a black candidate was passed over.
Sharpton said he disagrees with those who say she isn't qualified to be U.S. senator.

Sharpton said he disagrees with those who say she isn't qualified to be U.S. senator.

ATF: Accelerant poured around Palin's church
ATF says accelerant poured around Sarah Palin's church
2 hours, 0 minute ago
By The Associated Press
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081216/ap_on_re_us/palin_church_fire
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - An accelerant was poured around the exterior of Gov. Sarah Palin's church before fire heavily damaged the building, federal investigators said Monday.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said the accelerant was poured at several locations around the church, including entrances.
Lab tests will determine the type of substance involved. Possibilities include gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel or even lamp oil, Agent Nick Starcevic said.
The blaze was set Friday night at the main entrance of the Wasilla Bible Church while a small group, including two children, were inside. No one was injured. Fire authorities were called to the scene at 9:40 p.m., unusually early for many arson fires, Starcevic said.
"It's kind of odd to do in the evening hours," he said. "I can tell you that most of the arson fires I've worked on are late nighttime, usually when no one is there."
Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate, was not at the church at the time of the fire but visited Saturday. Her spokesman, Bill McAllister, said Monday that Palin knew about the accelerants Saturday morning before a statement she authorized was released that day.
During her visit at the church, Palin told an assistant pastor she was sorry if the fire was connected to the "undeserved negative attention" the church has received since she became the vice presidential candidate Aug. 29, McAllister said.
Wasilla Deputy Police Chief Greg Wood said authorities had no immediate suspects or motive.

Perhaps never before in American history has the Electoral College had before it such an awesome responsibility.
Normally, the electors perform their duties like robots. Those pledged to the Democrat candidate vote for him. Those pledged to the Republican candidate vote for him.
To my knowledge, however, never before has there been serious concern about the eligibility of the winning candidate.
There certainly is in 2008.
On Monday, 538 electors are scheduled to convene throughout the 50 states to cast their ballots for one of two candidates – John McCain and Barack Obama. Yet, there is a more fundamental issue at stake this year than ever before – and electors should each take their constitutional responsibility seriously to raise it.
Is the man who won the majority of popular votes Nov. 4, Barack Obama, eligible to be president under Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution?
If there is any doubt, electors have a sworn duty to find out. And, no matter what you hear from my colleagues in the press, elected officials who chose not to investigate this matter and not to insist that safeguards and checks were in place on a matter so urgent and fundamental, there is doubt – grave doubt.
In fact, unless we're going to live under an honor system in the future, one that relies solely on what a candidate says about his own eligibility, there is no reason to believe Obama is. There is simply no valid evidence to prove it, and there is plenty to raise doubts.
For instance:
* None of the offices of secretary of state responsible for placing candidates on the ballot across the country bothered to ask them for proof of eligibility.
* The Federal Election Commission didn't involve itself in that process – begging the question: What does the Federal Election Commission do?
* The issue was never addressed by the U.S. attorney general's office or any state AGs.
* The Supreme Court, confronted with a question of constitutional propriety, passed on the chance to investigate further.
* Members of Congress have actually written constituents explaining that the American people have spoken – so the Constitution be damned!
It seems government wants to be involved in every facet of your life, far exceeding constitutional scope, but isn't the least bit concerned about upholding even the most clear-cut eligibility requirements for the president of the United States.
If all of this has you as frustrated and angry as it does me, there are two things you can still do to make your voice heard:
* Sign the petition I launched several weeks ago calling on all controlling legal authorities to demand proof of Obama's eligibility under the Constitution.
* FedEx the Electoral College before 1 p.m. Thursday about your concerns in anticipation of its meetings next Monday – the meetings that will officially elect Obama as the next president.
I'm afraid the clock is ticking.
We're running out of time.
Yet, I think it is essential for those of us who still revere the Constitution to stand up for it and make as much noise as we can.
I'm not sure we will be successful at getting questions answered about Obama's eligibility. But, if we make enough noise, we just might make the parties think twice about nominating again a candidate of questionable eligibility.
Are you ready to stand up for the Constitution?
Or are you going to lie down and allow it to be trampled?
Please stand up with me. We owe it to all those who have fought and died for that Constitution to do all we can to honor it.
Do your part:
* FedEx 538 members of the Electoral College right now for only $10.95.
* Sign the petition demanding accountability to our Constitution.

Keyes' lawyers invite public to 'join the fight'
High-profile eligibility lawsuit may succeed where others have failed

A California public interest legal group has taken on a high-profile battle that already has at least three entire law firms lining up on the other side. But the group has promised to fight until a resolution is reached in the dispute over Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.
The legal action by the United States Justice Foundation seeks to stop the state's Electoral College voters, who already have been served with formal notices, from voting for Obama unless and until documentation proving his eligibility to occupy the Oval Office has been provided.
"For the sake of our Constitution and our republic, the issue MUST be resolved," the legal advocacy group says in a new campaign seeking support for its work.
To explain the implications of not resolving the eligibility question before Inauguration Day, USJF gives several possible examples: "If President Obama issues an executive order to rescind the Mexico City Policy and allows the tax dollars of Americans to fund organizations that promote abortions overseas, the door to question the legitimacy of that executive order remains open."
"If President Obama signs a treaty with an unfriendly power or the United Nations, the door to question the legitimacy of that treaty remains open.
"If President Obama signs a bill granting amnesty to illegal aliens, the door to question the legitimacy of that law remains open.
"If President Obama appoints new commissioners to the FCC who bring back the so-called Fairness Doctrine, the door to question those appointments and the legitimacy of the actions taken by his appointees remains open."
Thus, contends USJF in its lawsuit: "Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the office of president of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void, petitioners, as well as other Americans, will suffer irreparable harm in that an usurper will be sitting as the president of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal."
"In other words, as long as this case is in the courts, a cloud hangs over Sen. Obama's head. For the sake of our Constitution and our Republic, the issue MUST be resolved!" the legal group said.
The USJF team said its goal is simply to make certain that the Constitution's clear requirements are met.
"Protecting the Constitution is not 'garbage,'" the group said, responding to an earlier WND report in which an Obama campaign spokeswoman said of challenges to his eligibility: "All I can tell you is that it is just pure garbage."
But USJF says making certain the Constitution's provisions are followed is basic to America, including the provision in Article 2, Section 1, which demands, "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of president."
"The Obama campaign's response is an elitist, condescending slap in the face to patriotic Americans," says USJF. "The Obama campaign has a crack team of three high-priced law firms – that's not three lawyers but three law firms – that will use every means that money can buy to fight this action."
Although there are over a dozen cases nationwide challenging Obama's constitutional eligibility to be president, USJF attorneys explain why their case is different. Unlike other cases that have been rejected because the plaintiffs allegedly lacked "standing" to complain, the parties in this case definitely "have standing to bring this litigation."
That's because the plaintiffs, including former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and Wiley Drake, were both candidates on this year's California ballot. Keyes was a U.N. ambassador during the Reagan administration.
USJF, which previously has fought on behalf of members of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and for families' rights to homeschool their children, was integral several years ago in providing legal representation for WND when it successfully fought a high-profile accreditation fight with the Senate Press Gallery.
"Here's the bottom line," says USJF. "Team Obama presently has THREE LAW FIRMS at its disposal – and a seemingly unlimited ability to raise funds from the far-left for re-enforcements. Three law firms potentially translates to scores of attorneys and possibly hundreds of clerks who can literally throw paperwork at us until we crack under the sheer pressure and cry uncle.
"The only thing they fear is you! They hope and pray that you will not support our efforts or that you will grow tired of the fight. Conversely, what they fear most is that you will join us and support our efforts!"

Don't believe Barack Obama's grandmother? Don't believe the ambassador to Kenya? How about Barack Obama's own Cabinet member?
That's right – former presidential candidate and Obama's choice for secretary of commerce, Gov. Bill Richardson, slipped up. In an effort to reach out to the Hispanic community, he admitted what Barack Obama has been trying to hide all these months: "Barack Obama is an immigrant." See it for yourself:
You don't need a translator to understand what Richardson admitted: Barack Obama is NOT a natural born citizen. That means we have a guy who's planning to take over the White House who is in direct violation of the Constitution. And his own Cabinet member says so. That's pretty big news, one would think. But the media has refused to cover it with anything more than a blurb laced with a "this is ridiculous" tone. It is ridiculous – ridiculous that the Constitution means so little that we can't even ensure that it's being followed. It's ridiculous that the story of the century is being ignored by those whose job it is to report it.
But now there's something even more ridiculous: Not only will Fox not report the news regarding Obama's citizenship, now we can't even buy an ad on Fox to allow others to hear about the constitutional crisis we're facing.
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, sign WND's petition demanding the release of his birth certificate.
CNN is still considering it. Here's the ad text and, as they requested, the information to back up each line:

And with all those legal challenges, Grandma, the Kenyan ambassador and now Obama's own Cabinet member all saying that Obama is not qualified to serve as president, rest assured, this issue is not going to go away time soon.
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, sign WND's petition demanding the release of his birth certificate.

WASHINGTON – It took just hours for some 1,800 WND readers to jump aboard a new campaign to contact members of the Electoral College who are expected to vote Monday on sending Barack Obama to the White House.
Following up a campaign that sent more than 60,000 letters by overnight delivery to the U.S. Supreme Court when a case contesting Obama's eligibility for the Oval Office was pending, WND announced a historic first in its quest to establish Obama's qualifications for office – a similar FedEx letter drive directed at individual electors.
Through Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern, WND is providing an opportunity to Americans who would like to contact electors with their concerns.
The letters will be sent FedEx to all 538 members of the Electoral College. The program first targeted only 470 for whom addresses initially were available. But the remaining addresses have been traced, and the letters will be delivered Friday morning, giving each elector the weekend to consider the constitutional issues raised by Obama's presidency.
As WND has reported, there remain serious questions as to whether Obama is "a natural born citizen," as specified in Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution.
It has also come under fire as a possible forgery.
Last Tuesday, WND kicked off a campaign to FedEx letters to the nine members of the U.S. Supreme Court who were set to review a case challenging Obama's eligibility for the presidency. Yesterday, the court announced its decision not to pursue a formal review in that case.
"That leaves it up to the Electoral College," said WND Editor Joseph Farah, who spearheaded the first FedEx campaign and an earlier, ongoing online petition drive on the eligibility issue. "If you want to do everything you can, like I do, to see that the letter and spirit of the Constitution are upheld in this election year, this may be your last chance to weigh in before Inauguration Day. I urge you to work with us in sending letters to members of the Electoral College."
WND was able to track down addresses for all 538 electors. With the new "FedEx the Electoral College" program, you can reach all of them with a one-page pre-written letter, with your name and address attached, delivered overnight for less than it would cost you to FedEx one member – if you had the address. The cost to readers is being maintained at the initial level, even through letters now will go to 538 individuals, not 470.
"The idea was to make this very easy and inexpensive for Americans to make their voices heard," explained Farah. "We encourage other creative ways to prevail upon the consciences of the Electoral College members, but these are not high-profile, public figures. They are ordinary Americans who are little known to the public who lead private lives. It is not easy to find their names, let alone addresses. While we do not feel comfortable making those addresses public, we believe this campaign will allow Americans to offer their opinions and concerns in a controlled way, without violating the privacy of individual members."
Farah personally drafted the letter that will be sent to the electors above the name and address of all those participating in the program.
Farah launched a petition drive on WND three weeks ago that calls on all controlling legal authorities to ensure the Constitution is followed on the question of eligibility and for full public disclosure of the facts of Obama's birthplace and parentage. More than 175,000 people have signed on to the petition in that time.
Obama has claimed in his autobiography and elsewhere that he was born in Hawaii in 1961 to parents Barack Hussein Obama Sr., a Kenyan national, and Stanley Ann Dunham, a minor. But details about which hospital handled the birth and other specifics provided on the complete birth certificate have been withheld by Obama, despite a dozen lawsuits and widespread public demand for release. WND dispatched private detectives to every hospital in Hawaii to see if there were any records of the birth of the first black man elected president. But, as yet, no hospital is claiming that distinction.
The letters to be sent in the "FedEx the Electoral College" campaign read:
Dear member of the Electoral College:
Before you cast your vote Monday to make Barack Hussein Obama Jr. the next president of the United States, please seriously consider the following:
Right now, a dozen lawsuits are pending all over the United States – including one brought by a former presidential candidate and U.N. ambassador, and another suit brought by a former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania, plus there are many others – all attempting to bring clarity to an issue that will haunt an Obama presidency if it isn't dealt with now.
That issue, as you surely know, is the fact that the U.S. Constitution says clearly and unambiguously in Article 2, Section 1 that presidents must be natural born citizens. But, as is evident not only from lawsuits, but from news stories and the actions of millions of Americans signing petitions, this constitutional issue has not yet been addressed, even at this late hour.
Unfortunately, there isn't enough time for our slow-moving legal process to deal with this before the Electoral College meets next week. Only you, our Electors, have the power and responsibility – and the obligation under the Constitution – to use your authority to establish, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that Barack Hussein Obama Jr. qualifies for the office under that standard.
There is grave and widespread concern throughout the American public that this constitutional requirement is being overlooked and enforcement neglected by state and federal election authorities. There should be no doubt whatsoever that America's next president was truly born in the United States.
Remember, if the Constitution doesn't mean precisely what it says, then America is no longer a nation under the rule of law. And a nation no longer under the rule of law is, by definition, under the rule of men.
Therefore I urge you to honor the Constitution in this matter and uphold the public trust – even if doing so may prove awkward or inconvenient.
All Americans should have confidence their president is eligible to serve. In this unique and historic case, you may prove to be the Constitution's last line of defense.
Sincerely,
The name and address of every participant in the "FedEx the Electoral College" campaign will be displayed for the 538 Electoral College members who receive the letters.
This is a historic opportunity to speak directly to the Electoral College at a critical time in American history.

FBI: Illinois Governor Sought To "Sell" Obama's Senate Seat
Wanted President-Elect to "Put Something Together . . . Something Big"

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich wanted President-elect Barack Obama "to put something together…something big" in exchange for going along with Obama's choice to fill his vacant U.S. Senate seat, according to a FBI affidavit unsealed following the governor's stunning arrest.
Gov. Blagojevich is charged with wire and mail fraud, and soliciting bribes.
"I've got this thing and it's f***ing golden, and, uh, uh, I'm just not giving it up for f***in' nothing. I'm not gonna do it. And I can always use it. I can parachute me there," Blagojevich said in a phone call secretly recorded by the FBI on Nov. 5, the day after the election, according to the affidavit.
Click here to read the full affidavit.
"It is conduct that would make Lincoln roll over in his grave," said U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in announcing the charges today in Chicago. He said the governor's efforts to "sell" the Senate seat was the "most sinister and appalling" of a range of alleged corrupt acts detailed in today's case.
Fitzgerald said "there's no reference in the complaint to any conversations involving the president-elect or indicating that the president-elect was aware of it, and that's all I can say." His comment did not close the door on the possibility that Obama or someone on his staff may have known of some aspect of the governor's demands.
Obama addressed the scandal over his Senate seat Tuesday afternoon, saying, "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening." But Obama's senior advisor David Axelrod told a Chicago affiliate of Fox News that Obama had in fact spoken to Blagojevich about his empty Senate seat.

"I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names, many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them," Axelrod said in the Nov. 23 interview.
The controversy continued Tuesday evening, when Axelrod issued a statement retracting his statement. "I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject," said Axelrod.
The president-elect, who was speaking to reporters following a meeting with Al Gore about green energy and climate change, also said, "Obviously, like the rest of the people of Illinois, I am saddened and sobered by news that came out of the U.S. Attorney's office today, but as this is an ongoing investigation into the governor, I don't think it'd be appropriate for me to comment at this time."
Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. said he met with Blagojevich yesterday "for the first time in years" and voiced his desire to fill Obama's empty Senate seat. He said he was "shocked" by Blagojevich's arrest, adding "If these allegations are proved true, I am outraged by the appalling, pay-to-play schemes hatched at the highest levels of our state government."
Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., called on the Illinois State Senate to set a special election to fill Obama's vacant Senate seat, claiming that "No appointment by this governor under these circumstances could produce a credible replacement." As the Governor of Illinois, Blagojevich retains power to fill Obama's seat, however sources say that isn't likely.
ABC News' George Stephanopoulous reports that Illinois state legislators will meet next week to pass a bill for a special election in February. Beyond a special election, the Illinois Secretary of State has the power to certify Blagojevich's pick, and the U.S. Senate can choose not to seat whoever he might appoint.

There are strong indications that Candidate 1 may be Valerie Jarrett, Obama's close confidante who has since been named a special presidential adviser. Senate Candidate 1 is identified in the federal documents as an adviser to the president-elect.
Durbin in his news conference said Blagojevich was considering Jarrett until she withdrew her name from consideration. "The governor asked me if I thought she [Jarrett] was serious about not being appointed and I said 'Yes, she told me point blank that she was,'" Durbin said.
The federal complaint also states that Candidate 1 eventually withdrew from consideration.
In addition, Durbin declined to speculate whether Senate Candidate 5 could be in peril.

Blagojevich Wanted Obama Cabinet Appointment, Well-Paying Job, or Campaign Money, FBI Says
The FBI says Blagojevich wanted an appointment to the Obama cabinet as Secretary of Health and Human Services, a well-paying job, or huge campaign contributions as the price for naming Obama's successor.
Blagojevich was overheard by the FBI saying "I want to make money," complaining he was "financially hurting."
Blagojevich also sought a high paying job for his wife, according to the FBI. "Is there a play here, with these guys, with her" to work for a firm in Washington or New York, he reportedly asked.
The FBI affidavit said Blagojevich had been told by an adviser "the president-elect can get Rod Blagojevich's wife on paid corporate boards in exchange for naming the president-elect's pick to the Senate."
Told by two other advisers he has to "suck it up" for two years, the FBI says it heard Blagojevich complain he has to give this "motherf***er [the president-elect] his senator. F*** him. For nothing? F*** him."
The governor is heard saying he will pick another candidate "before I just give f***ing [Senate Candidate l] a f***ing Senate seat and I don't get anything."

Candidates for Obama's Senate Seat
According to the affidavit, one candidate for the senate seat, identified as Senate Candidate 5, promised to "raise money" for Blagojevich. The governor described, in a recorded call, an earlier approach by an associate of Senate Candidate 5.
"We were approached 'pay to play.' That, you know he'd raise me 500 grand. An emissary came. Then the other guy would raise a million, if I made him (Senate Candidate 5) a Senator," Blagojevich was quoted as saying.

Scandal on the Congressional Campaign Trail
The affidavit said Blagojevich was interested in a high-paying position with an organization affiliated with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), called Change to Win, and that he suggested in a conversation with a SEIU official on Nov. 12, 2008 that Obama wanted other people to be considered for the Senate seat besides Senate Candidate 1. Previous phone conversations indicated that Blagojevich knew the SEIU official "was an emissary to discuss Senate Candidate 1's interest in the Senate seat," the affidavit said.
"HARRIS suggested that SEIU Official make ROD BLAGOJEVICH the head of Change to Win and, in exchange, the President-elect could help Change to Win with its legislative agenda on a national level," noted the affidavit.
SEIU has denied any involvement, saying in a statement, "We have no reason to believe that SEIU or any SEIU official was involved in any wrongdoing."
Change to Win released a statement saying the organization never "considered, discussed or promised" any position to Blagojevich or his staff, and that the group only learned of conversations between the governor and his advisers discussing such a position upon the release of the affidavit today.
Affidavit Says Blagojevich Knew He Was Under FBI Investigation
The FBI affidavit says Blagojevich thought he might get something "tangible up front" from Senate Candidate 5.
Aware that he was under FBI investigation, Blagojevich apparently considered appointing himself to Obama's Senate seat, the affidavit says. He is quoted as saying "he will be able to obtain greater resources if he is indicted as a sitting senator as opposed to a sitting governor."
He was arrested this morning on a two count criminal complaint.

Blagojevich Appears in Federal Court, Must Surrender Passport
Blagojevich and Harris appeared briefly in federal court in Chicago this afternoon. Bond was set at $4,500 for both of them, and Blagojevich was ordered to turn in his passport and gun card. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom.
"If Illinois isn't the most corrupt state in the United States, it sure is one hell of the competitors," said the head of the FBI's Chicago office, Robert Grant.
He said veteran FBI agents were "disgusted, sick" as they listened to the intercepted conversations of the Illinois governor.
The governor was taken into custody in handcuffs from his home by two FBI agents just after six this morning, according to Grant.
Grant said he had first called the governor to tell him there was a warrant for his arrest.
"Is this a joke?" the governor responded, according to Grant.
Blagojevich has previously been linked to former political fundraiser Tony Rezko, who was convicted in June of charges stemming from him using his influence with the governor's office in a multi-million dollar kickback scheme. Blagojevich's relationship with Rezko, who is in jail while he waits sentencing on Jan. 6, was a consistent theme of Rezko's trial.

Sarah Palin's office sent suspicious powder
8th letter containing substance addressed to governor's office intercepted in Alaska

Alaska governor's office sent suspicious powder
Dec 10 12:01 AM US/Eastern
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - An eighth letter containing suspicious powder and addressed to a governor's office was intercepted in Alaska on Tuesday, and it bore a Texas postmark like suspicious mailings to other governors this week, officials said.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Sarah Palin said the letter was received Tuesday in Juneau at a mailroom about a block from the Capitol, and it was addressed to Palin's predecessor Gov. Frank Murkowski, who left office two years ago.
Palin spokeswoman Sharon Leighow said the letter came from Texas, but she didn't know which city. Seven suspicious letters to governors' offices received this week bore Dallas postmarks, the FBI said Tuesday.
And while those seven letters were determined to contain harmless powder, results of tests on the Alaska letter were pending Tuesday night, the FBI office in Anchorage said.
Government operations were disrupted Monday when workers in Alabama, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana and Rhode Island opened the letters and discovered white powder.
In Alabama, the Department of Public Safety said Tuesday the letter received at its state Capitol contained a harmless food substance. In Missouri, a chemical analysis by the state health lab found the powder appeared to be bleached flour, spokeswoman Nanci Gonder said Tuesday.
FBI spokesman Rich Kolko in Washington, D.C., said the Dallas FBI office is investigating and warned other states to be on the lookout for similar letters.
In Juneau, the building housing the mailroom was emptied of workers, and a hazardous materials team collected material from the scene.
The worker who opened the letter showed no signs of exposure to a hazardous material and was released, said Richard Ethridge, a Juneau fire department division chief.
Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate who splits time between Anchorage and Juneau, was in the capital on Tuesday to host the annual holiday party at the governor's mansion. The event went on as planned.
The FBI declined to say if the letters intercepted Monday were specifically addressed to each governor or written to a generic "governor's office" address.
Alabama's public safety director, Christopher Murphy, said the letter received in Montgomery did not specifically target Gov. Bob Riley but declined to elaborate on what it said.
The letters forced the evacuation of the Capitol in Helena, Mont., and the closing of a major street in downtown Montgomery for several hours.
Kolko said even hoax letters could be considered a crime.

The U.S. Supreme Court today announced it has denied bringing Donofrio v. Wells – one of several cases challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president – before a full hearing.
The case of Leo C. Donofrio v. New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells claims Obama does not meet the Constitution's Article 2, Section 1 "natural-born citizen" requirement for president because of his dual citizenship at birth.
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, sign WND's petition demanding the release of his birth certificate.
Unlike many of the lawsuits regarding Obama's "natural-born citizen" status, the Donofrio case makes no allegation he was born on foreign soil. Instead, Donofrio contends Obama was a British citizen at birth, because of his father's citizenship in a British colony, Kenya.
"Don't be distracted by the birth certificate and Indonesia issues," Donofrio writes on his Natural Born Citizen blog. "They are irrelevant to Senator Obama's ineligibility to be president. Since Barack Obama's father was a citizen of Kenya and therefore subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of Senator Obama's birth, then Senator Obama was a British citizen 'at birth.'"
Obama's Fight the Smears website confirms that Donofrio is correct about the Democrat's citizenship at birth but says his dual citizenship with Britain expired, leaving him with only American citizenship.
Donfrio, however, contends that the Constitution was written in such a way to exclude dual citizens like Obama.
"The Framers of the Constitution, at the time of their birth," Donofrio writes, "were also British citizens, and that's why the Framers declared that, while they were citizens of the United States, they themselves were not 'natural born citizens.'"
"Therefore," Donofrio summarizes, "even if he were to produce an original birth certificate proving he were born on U.S. soil, he still wouldn't be eligible to be president."
Donfrio's case was originally denied a conference of the judges by Justice David H. Souter, but Justice Clarence Thomas agreed to bring it back for consideration last week. To go forward, from conference to a full hearing, the case needed the approval of four of the Supreme Court's nine justices.
As WND has reported, Donofrio's case is only one of several filed around the country challenging Obama's eligibility to be elected president under the Constitution.
Last month WND reported worries over a "constitutional crisis" that could be looming over the issue of Obama's citizenship.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.
The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists as his campaign has stated, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.
Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others filed a court petition in California asking the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office.
The California action was filed by Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation on behalf of Keyes, the presidential candidate of the American Independent Party, along with Wiley S. Drake and Markham Robinson, both California electors.
"Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the Office of President of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void, Petitioners, as well as other Americans, will suffer irreparable harm in that (a) usurper will be sitting as the President of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal," the action challenges.
The California case states, "There is a reasonable and common expectation by the voters that to qualify for the ballot, the individuals running for office must meet minimum qualifications as outlined in the federal and state Constitutions and statutes, and that compliance with those minimum qualifications has been confirmed by the officials overseeing the election process," the complaint said, when in fact the only documentation currently required is a signed statement from the candidate attesting to those qualifications.
"Since [the secretary of state] has, as its core, the mission of certifying and establishing the validity of the election process, this writ seeks a Court Order barring SOS from certifying the California Electors until documentary proof that Senator Obama is a 'natural born' citizen of the United States of America is received by her," the document said.
"This proof could include items such as his original birth certificate, showing the name of the hospital and the name and the signature of the doctor, all of his passports with immigration stamps, and verification from the governments where the candidate has resided, verifying that he did not, and does not, hold citizenship of these countries, and any other documents that certify an individual’s citizenship and/or qualification for office.
The "certification of live birth" posted by the Obama campaign cannot be viewed as authoritative, the case alleges.
"Hawaii Revised Statute 338-178 allows registration of birth in Hawaii for a child that was born outside of Hawaii to parents who, for a year preceding the child’s birth, claimed Hawaii as their place of residence," the document said. "The only way to know where Senator Obama was actually born is to view Senator Obama's original birth certificate from 1961 that shows the name of the hospital and the name and signature of the doctor that delivered him."
The case also raises the circumstances of Obama's time during his youth in Indonesia, where he was listed as having Indonesian citizenship. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship, raising the possibility of Obama's mother having given up his U.S. citizenship.
Any subsequent U.S. citizenship then, the case claims, would be "naturalized," not "natural-born."
WND's petition is available online, and more information is available at this link.

If you visit their home page, you will see an enlarged section from a 1963 Hawaiian birth certificate box 7c with the caption "Foreign Country" which they claim proves that Hawaii allowed foreign-born persons to register on the Live Birth form. The fraud is that blocks 7a-7g are the MOTHER'S RESIDENCE, not the place of birth, which is in block 6a and has nothing about "Foreign Country". It's a total sham which they hope nobody will notice since the full certificate showing the context is too blurry to read.

Not even the U.S. Supreme Court can kill the dispute that has developed over Sen. Barack Obama's eligibility to occupy the Oval Office based on questions raised over his birthplace and citizenship and his steadfast refusal to provide documentation on the issue.
The high court today denied a request to listen to arguments in a case, Donofrio v. Wells, from New Jersey that addressed the issues. But literally within minutes, the court's website confirmed that another conference is scheduled for Friday on another case raising the same worries.
The case of Leo C. Donofrio v. New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells claimed Obama does not meet the Constitution's Article 2, Section 1 "natural-born citizen" requirement for president because of his dual citizenship at birth.
The new case, Cort Wrotnowski v. Susan Bysiewicz, Connecticut secretary of state, also makes a dual citizenship argument. It had been rejected by Justice Ruth Ginsburg Nov. 26 but then was resubmitted to Justice Antonin Scalia. There was no word of its fate for about 10 days, then today the court's website confirmed it has been distributed for Friday's conference, a meeting at which the justices consider whether to take cases.
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, sign WND's petition demanding the release of his birth certificate.
Donofrio, whose case was rejected today, said he's hopeful Wrotnowski's complaint will find a more receptive panel.
"It includes a more solid brief and a less treacherous lower court procedural history," Donofrio writes on his Natural Born Citizen blog. "I must stress that [Wrotnowski] does not have the same procedural hang up that mine does."
The website explained an appeals judge in New Jersey had incorrectly characterized Donofrio's original complaint as a "motion for leave to appeal" rather than a "direct appeal."
"If Cort's application is also denied then the fat lady can sing," the website stated. "Until then, the same exact issue is before SCOTUS as was in my case. Cort's application before SCOTUS incorporates all of the arguments and law in mine, but we improved on the arguments in Cort's quite a bit as we had more time to prepare it."
Besides the plaintiffs for these two and about a dozen other legal actions that challenge Obama's eligibility in courts around the country, there are tens of thousands of people who are alarmed by the unanswered questions about Obama.
More than 60,000 letters were generated by WND readers specifically asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review Obama's eligibility.
The campaign included 6,682 packages of nine letters each delivered to the court on the case about Obama's eligibility under the "a natural born citizen" requirement.
"If we didn't do everything possible to let the Supreme Court justices know what a concern this is to millions of Americans, I would feel like I was letting down the Constitution and the men who framed it – not to mention every citizen of the United States living now and in the future," Joseph Farah, WND's founder and editor, said of the campaign. "This constitutional eligibility test has become a key issue with me because if the plain language of the Constitution is no longer taken seriously by our nation's controlling legal authorities, we have become an outlaw nation – no longer under the rule of law but under the rule of men."
A petition drive Farah launched also has collected about 174,000 signatures – so far – from people who want to know the truth.
Last month WND reported worries over a "constitutional crisis" that could be looming over the issue of Obama's citizenship. The concerns were raised in a lawsuit in California asking state officials to prevent Electoral College members from voting for Obama until they investigated his eligibility, a case being handled by the United States Justice Foundation.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi had gone both to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.
The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists as his campaign has stated, hasn't simply ordered it made available to settle the rumors.
A one point a Kenyan ambassador said Obama's birthplace in Kenya already was being recognized.
Among the plaintiffs in the California case is presidential candidate Alan Keyes.
Wrotnowski's case challenges the courts to review allegations of election fraud, suggesting the Connecticut secretary of state should not have placed Obama's name on the ballot without verification of his eligibility.
After state courts refused to take the case, he said the point was, "this document has not been produced."
"I'm not the first, not the last, just among a growing number of people across the country who've become distressed about the lack of disclosure,"
Donofrio had alleged that Obama's dual citizenship disqualifies him. Obama's campaign said the British citizenship expired, leaving him with "natural-born" U.S. citizenship.
Obama's Fight the Smears website confirms Donofrio is correct about the Democrat's citizenship at birth.
Donofrio's case originally was denied a conference of the judges by Justice David H. Souter, but Justice Clarence Thomas agreed to bring it back for consideration last week. To go forward, from conference to a full hearing, the case needed the approval of four of the Supreme Court's nine justices.
Also, the "certification of live birth" posted by the Obama campaign cannot be viewed as authoritative, critics allege.
"Hawaii Revised Statute 338-178 allows registration of birth in Hawaii for a child that was born outside of Hawaii to parents who, for a year preceding the child’s birth, claimed Hawaii as their place of residence," according to reports. "The only way to know where Senator Obama was actually born is to view Senator Obama's original birth certificate from 1961 that shows the name of the hospital and the name and signature of the doctor that delivered him."
Critics also raise the circumstances of Obama's time during his youth in Indonesia, where he was listed as having Indonesian citizenship. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship, raising the possibility of Obama's mother having given up his U.S. citizenship.
Any subsequent U.S. citizenship then, the case claims, would be "naturalized," not "natural-born."
WND's petition is available online, and more information is available at this link.
